Did you know that Spirit often tries to communicate with us? These messages aren’t loud, obvious of in your face; instead, they are gentle and subtle. Spirit’s presence is always there, but it’s up to us to open our hearts and minds to notice the signs and feel the peace and love they bring. I am going to share some advice on how to recognise signs and messages from Spirit.
For example, imagine your mother has passed away, and one day, you are overwhelmed with a vivid memory of a happy moment you shared. Your logical mind might dismiss it as just a memory, but if you have been grieving or searching for comfort, that memory could be more than that. It’s likely a loving “nudge” from your mother from the other side, letting you know she is with you and supporting you during your tough time.
The Six Ways Spirit Communicates
Spirit uses six main ways to connect with us, often referred to as the “clairs.” These are like extra senses that help us pick up on messages from the other side:
Clairvoyance: Seeing things with your “inner eye,” beyond what’s visible.
Clairaudience: Hearing messages beyond normal sounds.
Clairsentience: Feeling a Spirit’s presence, often described as a “gut feeling.”
Claircognizance: Just knowing something without understanding why.
Clairgustance: Tasting something without physically eating or drinking it.
Clairalience: Smelling something with no physical source, like perfume or smoke.
Mediums often receive messages through a variety of these six senses, but these connections aren’t limited to professionals. They can happen to anyone. The key is not to dismiss them as coincidence but to trust that they are your loved one’s way of reaching out to you.
Recognizing Signs From Spirit
Signs from Spirit are deeply personal and may appear in unique ways for everyone.
For instance:
If your grandmother was a smoker, you might suddenly smell cigarette smoke, even when no one is smoking. That’s clairalience.
If your mother loved baking cakes, you might taste her cupcakes in your mind. That’s clairgustance.
If you hear your fathers’s laughter in your head, that’s clairaudience.
Another common form of Spirit communication is clairvoyance, which often appears as vivid memories or visions through your “third eye.” This inner eye allows you to see moments or images that are Spirit’s way of connecting.
However, like all the clairs, you need to believe in it and intentionally tune into it for it to work effectively.
Spirit Communicates in Unique Ways
It’s important to remember that Spirit’s messages are as unique as the individuals sending them. A loved one’s personality or interests can influence how they reach out to you. For example, if your grandmother was passionate about butterflies, she might have butterflies appear in unusual places for you to find or perhaps have one lead you to something you are meant to discover.
To fully connect with these messages, avoid placing strict expectations on how Spirit should communicate. Be open to the possibility that signs can appear anywhere and at any time.
Staying Open to Spirit’s Messages
Connecting with Spirit doesn’t require special skills - it simply requires awareness and openness. By letting go of rules or doubts, you will eventually begin to notice signs, messages, and feelings that may have gone unnoticed before.
Spirit is always near, sending love and reassurance in their own way. When you recognise and embrace these moments, you will feel the connection that goes beyond the physical world, bringing comfort and peace to your journey.
